Spread your wings fearless
Good evening lovely friends,
After weeks of being away I’m finally back with lots of new projects made while away. I hope you’ll like them and they’ll inspire you!
This journal page is just one of them. It is a very simple but fun to make page.
I worked on my 8 x 5 inch watercolour Moleskine journal and started by applying a coat of gesso. I painted the background using acrylic paint dabbers – nothing too fancy at this stage, just trying to get some paint there and get rid of the white of the page. When the paint was dry I applied a thick layer of Finnabair clear crackle paste using a silicone brush and left the crackle paste dry naturally.
In the meantime I started painting the tags using Brusho pigments and ColourArte primary elements and stamped the butterflies using Staz On black ink.
When the background was dry I accentuated the crackles by rubbing some distressed ink in Vintage Photo all over the page. When I was pleased with the result I created my composition collaging the tags along with some old dictionary pages and strips of washi tape.
For the text I used a Finnabair stamp that I stamped on a scrap of paper left over from when I was making the tags and a Stencil Girl stencil. I inked the edges, stamped the date and done! 🙂
I love how this page turned out – the boldness of the tags against the earthy colored background just makes me happy! 🙂
Have a great evening,
