For the love of rust ATC set

For the love of rust ATC set

Good evening lovely people,

I’m back with an ATC set I finished last night. I hope you’ll love them as much as I did when I created them! 🙂

I started  by spreading some modeling paste through a Finnabair stencil (cogs) on  piece of waxed craft paper and when it was dry I pasted the entire piece on heavy weight watercolour paper using soft gel medium for giving it a sturdier base.

To add colour, first I sprayed a layer of ColourArte Radiant Rain (Teal Zircon and Autumn Leaf), dried everything with my heating tool and then painted some gorgeous Art Alchemy acrylic paints from Finnabair (Light Patina and Emerald Green that I must tell you is just fabulous, loooove it!!!).

While I was waiting for the paint to dry, I coiled some Prima wire thread and painted them with Finnabair Rust Paste (which I must admit I am addicted to, I use it on almost everything)! LOL

I cut the paper into 4 ATCs and glued down on each a bit of sisal and a tiny piece of cheese cloth. I spread in a few spots some white heavy gesso with a brush  and while it was still wet I sprinkled one of my all time favorites – Art Stones from Finnabair. I absolutely adore the texture they give to any project.

Painted the Art Stones with Art Alchemy paints and after drying added more rust paste on top, touching only the texture. Then I diluted the same acrylic paints and white gesso and made some splatters with a fan brush. When all the paint was dry I glued down the already prepared rusted wire coils and touched them with a bit of Light Patina. To finish my ATCs I cut out a few words from an old book, pasted them in the centre of my rusty wires and added some Art Pebbles from Finnabair on top of the words.

Hope you enjoyed today’s project and found the tutorial helpful and inspiring. Thank you so much for stopping by. Don’t forget to check out my Online Workshop. You can watch a video trailer HERE.

You still have time to take advantage of my October Special SALE, but hurry as it ends on Wednesday the 2nd of November (for all the details please read this post).

Have a wonderful evening,

Much love,
