Art journal spread

Art journal spread

Hello lovely friends,

Coming back tonight with an art journal spread I just finished called “Be brave”. I am very pleased with how it turned out so I thought I’ll share it with you. Hope you’ll like it!

This spread is all about experimenting and taking chances, about letting go of all your doubts and fears and allowing yourself to play and have fun!!!

I started working on this art journal spread in one of my handmade art journals, on heavy weight watercolour paper. I used this journal for cleaning up my stencils during a gelli plate printing session, so now I have the advantage of starting a page with some colour and pattern on it. Because I kind of liked the colours I decided to go with them. I went on and picked some gelli printed deli paper in the same colour scheme and collaged them here and there using Finnabair soft gel medium. The next step was using washi tape. I chose some black ones as I liked very much the contrast they made with the warm yellows and reds I had on my page.

I then stenciled a bit using acrylic paint (I used teal and quinacridone yellow azo gold) . When everything was dry I stamped circles in different sizes using some jar lids and black india ink, encouraging the ink to drip here and there.

When the ink was dry I have painted the circles using Sennelier oil pastels and stamped more circles on top.

As a finishing touch I did some stamping, splattering and wrote the words “create art” using a Pilot parallel pen. For the other page I stamped some Donna Downey stamps using black Staz On ink.

Hope you like my new project, thank you so much for stopping by and don’t forget to check out my new Online Workshop, you can watch a video trailer HERE.

Have a fun and creative evening,

Much love,
