Imagine-going back in time art journal page
Welcome dear friends,
I’m back tonight to share with you my latest art journal page.
I would like to enter this page into the More than Words Challenge June 2016 IMAGINE & GET MESSY.
I started by collaging some scraps of paper using soft gel medium and then I applied modeling paste through 3 different stencils to create more texture ( I dried the modeling paste after each layer using a heat gun). When this was dry I covered the pages with a coat of white gesso. While the gesso was drying, I worked on few of the embellishments. I coiled some wire into a circle and painted it using the Finnabair rust paste.
It’s for the first time I am playing with this paint and I must confess I’m hooked! It’s an absolutely fantastic product!!! Gorgeous rusty colours and such a yummy texture! Forget about the smelly vinegar and waiting for hours trying to rust metal embellishments! This is so easy to use and quick too! And there is more, we can now “rust” just about everything – chipboard, plastic, wood, you name it! Pure happiness in a jar!!! Just saying! LOL
Right! Going back to my process, I rusted few chipboards too, painted a wonderful wing from Prima Relics and Artifacts and few Finnabair art pebbles using Finn’s Art Alchemy acrylic paint in Light Patina and gold opal magic mica powder.
To paint my background I diluted all 3 rust paste colours and then splattered them using a fan brush. Did a bit of background stamping using a script stamp and black Staz On ink and then started to create my composition. I have used a Finnabair ephemera vintage photo, some Prima flowers and leaves, cheese cloth, lace, chipboards and lots and lots of Finn’s art stones.
As a finishing touch I have splattered diluted white gesso and added the word “Imagine”.
Have a fun and creative evening,
