Hello friends,
Today I’m back with Dream On mixed media art card - a collage inspired by nature, created in fall/earthy colours.
The background was created using the very cheap, easy and quick petroleum jelly technique. I spread the vaseline with my fingers through the stencil and, while still wet, I sprayed the inks and then I dried everything with the heat gun. When it was ready, I spread through another stencil some light modeling paste mixed with ColourArte primary elements and then I splattered (generously the whole background. For the collage I layered some old french book pages and craft paper torn from a notebook and then I started to work on my focal image. For this I cut a tag out of heavy weight watercolour paper that I covered with a piece of tissue wrap by Tim Holtz. I added a coat of gesso to push the design in the bacground, then stamped and painted the images. I inked then the tag background with few distress inks and splattered more, this time with some white ink. Stamped the sentiment using Finnabair “Dream On” stamp set, added a small rusted copper washer and a clear pebble and… TA-DA! This is the result!
