New mixed media painting

Good evening lovelies,

Tonight I have a new mixed media painting to share with you. It’s called “Togetherness” and was painted on a wood panel, using lots of stencils that we carry in the Shop.

For this project I wanted to take the stenciling to a whole new level, using them not only for adding texture and patterns to the background but as a focal image as well. The leaves on the left side of the painting were scratched into the layers of paint underneath. Everything was sealed with a generous coat of Finnabair soft gel medium.

I was so inspired by the Silhouette Trio from Donna Downey when I saw it first that I knew immediately I will use it a lot!!! And like this “Togetherness” emerged.
