Hi there lovely friends,
Today I’m back with a mixed media ATC start-to-finish video tutorial that I would like to share with you. This is a really quick and fun project that I hope will inspire you.
I started the background by priming a piece of watercolor paper (300 gsm) with a coat of white gesso. The first layer of colour have been created using Gelatos in Lemon, Mango and Bubble Gum and Mix’d Media Inx in Peridot, blending everything with my fingers and a baby wipe. When everything was dry I added texture using two stencils (Mayan Calendar from The Crafter’s Workshop and a Prima one) and modeling paste. After drying I applied a second layer of colours , this time using ColourArte Radiant Rain Shimmer Mist in Apple Blossom, Teal Zircon and Pewter and SEI Tumble Dye spray in Charcoal - luscious splashes of rich, vibrant colours. The last step was to apply a layer of gesso here and there by dabbing with a sponge.
I created the composition by adding papers from Prima Marketing, old book pages, some chipboard bits that I embossed using Mix’d Media Inx in Peridot and Berries and clear embossing powder, thread, cheesecloth, tiny bits of lace, flowers from Prima (the new Royal Menagerie collection) and some metal embellishments.
For the final touches I added Prima crystals, Finnabair micro beads (in Splash, Pollen and Blush) and glitter (in pink, turquoise and black) and ColourArte Primary Elements ( in Warm Gray, Wintermist Gray and Heavenly White).
For the words I used Donna Downey Empowered Words stamp set stamped on Prima paper with StazOn black ink.
