Hello friends,
Today I have two mixed media art tags to share with you. Two completely different styles but the same great fun in creating them.
As the weather is not so great lately here in London, with plenty of shades of grey (even not quite 50! LOL), I guess I lack the sun and miss the colours of spring and summer, so to cheer myself up I created this little tag bursting with bright, warm and happy tones.
I started by applying some Brusho pigments and Ecoline watercolours directly on my working mat and spritzed them with water. Then I laid down a piece of acrylic paper and dragged it gently through the “puddle” and heat set it with my heating tool.
When everything was dry I added more colour using some Gelatos, then cut the paper and shaped it as a tag and applied modelling paste through a TCW stencil and heat set it again. Stamped my honeycomb and shaded around it first with a black Stabilo All pencil and then with a walnut stain SEI Tumble Dye spray. I accentuated the colours here and there using some Inktense pencils.
From a scrap of patterned paper I cut a smaller tag and stamped two Stampotique bees. Aren’t they just adorable?
To finish my tag I punched out a few circles from the leftovers of my acrylic paper and glued them down in a few spots around the tag. I stamped again the smaller bee on one of the circles, covered it with a clear epoxy sticker and used it as an embellishment. Few splatters of white and black ink and VOILA! The tag is done!
And because the St. Valentine’s Day is approaching, I decided to make another tag. This time a vintagy/grungy look, adorned with a few more delicate embellishments. Hope you’ll like it.
And some close-ups:

View CommentSensational tags!
View CommentThe colours on the bee tag are so cheerful, a tonic for the dark days we’ve had in the U.K. but my heart is going with tag no. 2 - love the texture and colours.
Stunning art.

View CommentOur weather has been up and down and hardly any snow, at least it doesn’t stay long! Too be honest, I would rather have the snow than the rain and mud- but Mother Nature does as she wills! “)
