Cherish Yesterday mixed media canvas
Good evening sweet friends,
Tonight I’d love to share with you, my newest mixed media canvas called Cherish Yesterday. I have played with more of the NEW wonderful Finnabair and let me tell you, I love them more and more! You can see the full reveal and read about these very special products on the Prima blog here. This time I focused on the Stone Effect paste set and continued to explore the patina paste together with the rust paste and here is the result.
To create this small (8 x 8 inch) mixed media canvas, I started by randomly applying a layer of Concrete paste using a silicone brush. When this was dry I spread some Pumice and Limestone paste through a couple of different stencils and left it to dry completely. Next, I gave the entire canvas a coat fo white heavy gesso and dried everything with my heating gun.
I painted the background using two Lindy’s Stamp Gang sprays (green and black) and diluted patina paste (green and blue).
Out of some balsa wood and few lollipop sticks, I created a door that I embellished with pieces of paper clay (made using Prima moulds) and some of Finn’s mechanicals. I collaged some tiny strips of gelli printed paper to create a “peeled off” paint effect and glued down the paper clay pieces with 3D gloss gel.
Next, I painted the paper clay embellishments with Art Alchemy Antique Brilliance wax (Lucky Emerald) using a brush, followed by Patina and Rust paste in successive layers.
To create a “moss-like” effect on the walls and on the clay piece over the door, I added touches of Lindy’s Stamp gang spray and Art Alchemy Metallique green olive.
As a final touch, I added some clear crackle paste, here and there, on the door, to enhance even more the vintage, weathered look.
Thank you so much for stopping by!
Have a great evening my friends and don’t forget to check out my Online Workshops . There are only a few days left to take advantage of the Massive Sale that’s running in my Shop. You can read more about it here.
Much love,
