Finnabair Art Recipe - “ Love Letters” for Prima Marketing

Hello, my friends! I am very excited to be part of May Finnabair Art Recipe for Prima Marketing as I truly loooove the products chosen for this month.  The new Art Alchemy Impasto paints are absolutely gorgeous in every single way: they have rich and vibrant colours with a creamy, thick consistency, they are loaded with pigments and they dry permanent with a matte finish. I totally love these paints and they are quickly and surely becoming one of my favourites! ?

For today, I decided to create a very romantic mixed media collage on a 6 x 6 inch canvas. My love for texture is not a secret anymore (LOL) so I was delighted when Finnabair and Prima brought us the new Mega Art Stones, the perfect addition to the art stones family. ?

After applying a coat of gesso on my canvas, I collaged scraps of old book pages using the soft matte gel and then I covered everything with a thick layer of white crackle paste. I left the crackle paste dry overnight (don’t try to rush this step as you will not get the same result). Next morning I mixed modelling paste with some texture powder and spread it through a doily stencil. When dry, I have painted the background with the Art Alchemy Impasto- Jade and the Metallique Gold Rush.

I created my composition using fine cotton gauze from the fabric pack, cheese cloth, a lovely vintage photo from the Ephemera pack, I built clusters of all three sizes of art stones, added some mechanicals and glued them all down with 3D matte gel.

I created a rust and patina effect using the red rust paste and Jade Impasto paint, stamped a real feather and added a splash of red with Art Alchemy Poppy Red paint.

To finish my project I darkened the canvas edges with Art Alchemy Dark Chocolate paint and added a few touches of gold with Art Alchemy Wax in White Gold.
